FAQ’S

  • Do I need a ticket to enter?

    NOPE! This is a free-to-attend event! Please do show the official sponsors and vendors some appreciation, so we can keep his festivl free in the future!

  • What about parking?

    Parking is free on a first-come, first-served basis in the Metro-North and Village lots on either side of the Ossining Train Station. There is also a paid, private lot at the Westerly Maria, 7 Westerly Rd, Ossining, NY 10562, 2 blocks north of the festival site. Some street parking available on the East side of the train station.

  • Can I bring my kids?

    Yes! Up the River is a family-friendly event.

  • Can I bring my own food or drinks?

    We don’t allow outside alcohol and we ask that you don’t bring outside food or drinks (except water) so that our food trucks have a great day too!

  • Can I bring a lawn chair or blanket?

    Yes! You should absolutely bring a beach blanket and/or a low-back lawn chair to relax and enjoy the music. There will be a designated chair/blanket area in front of the stage, and no seating will be provided. We ask that you be considerate of your fellow festivalgoers and bring chairs that aren’t super tall so that you don’t obstruct people’s views.

  • What CAN'T I bring?

    Please don’t bring outside food, beverages other than water, pop-up tents, tall chairs that block others’ views. And basically just use common sense here: please don’t bring any type of weapon or item that could hurt other people, damage the park or negatively impact other’s experience of the event. You will be asked to take any prohibited item back to your car, so save yourself the time and trouble and leave it at home!

  • Is there a rain date?

    Due to artist and park schedules, there is no rain date for the Festival. We ask that you remain patient until 2025, when we will try it again!

  • How Do I Get There?

    Louis Engel Park is located on Westerly Road, on the Hudson River, in Ossining, NY. From Route 9 (Highland Avenue in Ossining), Turn west onto Main Street and follow the road down to the river. Parking can be found on either side of the Metro-North rail station. For more on Parking, see the Parking FAQ. Carpooling is encouraged. The Festival area is adjacent to the Metro-North station in Ossining, and taking the train is the easiest way in.
